about Cuenca Soup kitchen
Goal

The Cuenca Soup Kitchen is committed to providing food to those most in need.
Originally the Cuenca Soup Kitchen served lunch five times a week to refugees. When the meal service was halted due to COVID-19, we redesigned our food assistance program allowing us to add additional families. In addition to food we continue to provide donated clothing and household items.
Each family is screened and followed by a social worker. As they reach stability they are transitioned out of the program, making room for others in need.
There are hundreds of families on our waiting list. Monthly donations of $25 help us to provide food to a family for a month.

Responding to the needs

In addition to our partnerships that serve families within the city of Cuenca, the Cuenca Soup Kitchen reacts to urgent needs.
Sometimes this need is created by natural disasters such as flooding and landslides. In these cases the CSK provides food and hygiene products as communities work towards stabilization.
